Session: Transitioning Carrier Routing Systems to ENUM

Date: 2008-06-24
Time: 15:00:00 to 15:45:00

Session Abstract:
ENUM is the standard for mapping telephone numbers to IP addresses. ENUM enables communication service providers connect calls directly and efficiently over IP instead of using the PSTN. Now the ENUM technology is being applied beyond basic call routing. Taking advantage of the massive scalability with low latencies offered by the ENUM databases, service providers are utilizing ENUM for applications like least cost routing, local number portability, Dial plan management, public & private peering, etc. In this panel the following topics will be discussed:

  • Current trends and applications in telecom utilizing ENUM
  • ENUM the new SCP for IP networks and consolidating databases
  • ENUM based least cost routing and routing directory
  • Peering solution models with ENUM
